All are welcome!

When we say you are welcome at First Congregational Church of Paxton, we mean it. This is God’s house, and everyone belongs. Our hope is to be a community where all people are seen, accepted, and valued for who they are — because that’s how God sees each of us.

The Christian faith begins with the good news that you are deeply and unconditionally loved by God. We do our best to reflect that love by creating a safe and welcoming space for all of God’s children — no matter your age, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, or background.

Whoever you are, you are God’s beloved. We’d be honored to welcome you.

We gather for worship Sundays at 10:00 a.m.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is First Congregational Church of Paxton?

We’re located at 1 Church Street in Paxton, Massachusetts — right at the heart of town. Look for the white steepled church on the hill!

What time does worship start?

Our worship service begins at 10:00 a.m. every Sunday. You’re welcome to join us in person or online — whichever works best for you.

What should I wear?

There’s no dress code here. Some people come in jeans, others in Sunday best — most land somewhere in between. Come as you are and wear what feels right for you.

What are your worship services like?

Our services are welcoming, thoughtful, and rooted in real life. Each week includes prayer, music, scripture, and a sermon that connects faith to the questions we’re all asking.

We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we do take love seriously. You can expect a warm atmosphere, beautiful music, and a message that leaves you with something to think about — and hopefully something to carry with you into the week.

Do I have to bring money for an offering?

There’s no expectation to give. We do take an offering during worship to support the ministries of the church, and any amount is appreciated. Give if you feel led — or just receive. You can also donate online through our website or via Venmo. As we like to say: when everyone gives a little, it makes a big difference.

Can I take communion?

Yes! We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of each month, and all are welcome at the table. You don’t need to be a member or have it all figured out — just bring a heart open to love and grace. Christ’s table is wide, and there’s a place for you.

Do you offer programming for children?

Yes! Children are always welcome in worship — squirming, whispering, and all. We start each Sunday together as a full community. Kids usually stay for the first 8–10 minutes of the service, which includes announcements, the passing of the peace, a hymn, and a special Children’s Moment just for them.

After that, children are invited to head downstairs for Sunday School, where they’ll engage with Bible stories, activities, and conversations geared toward their age. Our goal is to help kids feel at home in church — seen, loved, and encouraged to grow in faith.
