We believe children and youth are a vital part of our church family — not just the future of the church, but the church right now. Our programs are designed to help young people feel known, loved, and engaged in their faith in age-appropriate ways.

Sunday Mornings

Children begin worship with their families in the sanctuary and stay for the first 8–10 minutes of the service. They participate in the announcements, passing of the peace, the first hymn, and a special Children’s Moment just for them. After that, they’re invited to head downstairs with our Sunday School volunteers for age-based programs during the rest of worship.

Nursery & Preschool Care

For our youngest children (preschool through kindergarten), we provide a warm, nurturing environment where little ones can play, listen to stories, and begin to feel at home in church. Our volunteers are caring, consistent, and committed to making sure every child feels safe and welcome.

Sunday School (Grades 1–5)

Our elementary-age children explore Bible stories through a mix of short readings, conversation, creative activities, and hands-on learning. Whether it’s coloring, crafting, or acting out a story, we aim to help kids connect with the message in a way that sparks their imagination and helps it stick.

Youth Choir

Kids who love to sing can join our Youth Choir, which holds short, 10-minute rehearsals on Sunday mornings. While they don’t participate in worship every week, they sing during special services and holidays throughout the year — a joyful way for them to share their gifts and be part of the life of the church.

Confirmation (Grade 9 & up)

Our confirmation program is open to high schoolers, typically starting in 9th grade. Using a United Church of Christ curriculum, confirmands meet weekly to explore their faith, ask big questions, and reflect on what it means to follow Jesus today. Each youth is paired with a mentor from the congregation, participates in service projects, and takes part in different aspects of worship. The program culminates in the writing of personal statements of belief and the opportunity to join the church as full members.
